Connecticut Valley Chapter Long Range Plan (pdf)

2008-2009 CT Valley Slate of Officers

The Connecticut Valley Chapter is located in the New England Area, Region VIII of ASSE and our geographical area is defined by county as follows:

In Connecticut: Hartford Litchfield Tolland Windham

In Massachusetts: (The Western Mass Section) Berkshire Franklin Hampden Hampshire

The Chapter, originally named "The Western Massachusetts Chapter of ASSE", was chartered on June 5, 1945. Later, the charter was changed to include the Hartford area in Connecticut prompting a name change to "The Connecticut Valley Chapter."

Current membership consists of over 250 safety, health and environmental professionals, students and associates with approximately 75% in Connecticut and 25% in Massachusetts. The chapter is delighted to sponsor The Western Mass Section based in Springfield, Massachusetts, as well as the UCONN Student Section at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT ... Go Huskies!

CT Valley was chosen by American Society of Safety Engineers as Chapter of the Year in 2002.

We meet September to June and offer informational and professional development opportunities through technical sessions with CEUs and joint meetings with other organizations. These organizations include The Connecticut Safety Society, The Society for Fire Protection Engineer, American Industrial Hygienists Association, Certified Property Casualty Underwriters, Risk Insurance Management Society, Public Risk Managers Association, and Western MA Safety Councils and other associations related to the safety, health and environmental fields.

More importantly our monthly meetings provide a forum for our members, student members and guests to meet among themselves to foster contacts and professionalism.
